Literacy workshops with bestselling author Dan Freedman and Aball1

Aball1 and Sunday Times bestselling author Dan Freedman have joined forces delivering literacy workshops at Primary and Secondary schools in England.

20131003_131459For the first hour, Dan delivers an inspirational talk to students. He tells them about his journey from being a football fanatic at school all the way through to working with the England Team and becoming a football author, writing the Jamie Johnson series of books.

It is a fun and inter-active session, for both boys and girls, using their passion for sport to engage them in reading, writing and thinking about their future career paths.

Pupils at Copley Academy taking part in an Aball1 literacy workshopFor the second hour, the students join a member of the Aball1 team for a session of literacy games linked to Dan’s talk, his books, current affairs and topics they have been covering at school. It’s a great fun session which gets the students thinking and talking about the books they’ve read, developing their vocabulary, spelling, team building, problem solving…and is as physically demanding as their teachers’ require or space allows!

The workshops are suitable for students of all ages and abilities; fun and engagement remain extremely high throughout.
